The New Chapter

"If you're always waiting or wishing for the clouds to magically clear, you might never get outside at all."

Welp, after years of dreaming of my Photography gig, it finally happened. I woke up one Sunday morning and applied to start an LLC in California, and here we are. I don't know if this was the best time to do this since so many things are going on in my life right now, but when is a good time? I've been dreaming about this since my high school days. Life will never pause to let me have a vacation from all of my routines to apply my full attention to this project.

Although this gig was legally established on May 8, 2023, I've been shooting images for a long time and refining my techniques and experimenting. Also, with time, I figured out what type of photography I'd like to pursue. After tinkering in different fields, I loved live sports photography and sports portraits.

I grew up playing sports, and I've always been amazed to see those awesome images in magazines that highlight athletes. I wish I had been featured as a young athlete in some form of publication, but it never happened. I wasn't that elite, LOL.

The digital age has matured, and the equipment and post-production software has become more streamlined than in 1993. Of course, this stuff is not everyone's niche, but for those shutterbugs like me, the digital age has helped to experiment much easier since I no longer have to process actual film and live in the darkroom, hoping my images turned out ok. I'm not sure how many times I've screwed up with processing the film where it would leave weird dots on the actual negatives. Additionally, experimenting with exposing the negatives into paper has gotten expensive since those papers are one-time use once light has hit the media and cemented by running them through a series of chemicals.

So onwards with today and the future of Gramercy Arts LLC. I'll continue to stay the course, become a better photographer than I was yesterday, and provide value to those who've trusted me to capture the moments they want.
